What ImUp To
Recently graduated from New York University Tisch School of the Arts (Magna Cum Laude)🥳🥳🥳.
After Graduation
She had a blast filming two short films (“Cleaners” dir. Mariano Flores and “Versions” dir. Kathleen Baggott) during her time at Stonestreet Studios II.
Following her summer training at Stonestreet, she interned at the studio for four months (September-December 2021). She worked as a teacher’s assistant for Christina Delaine (voice-over actress) who’s quite frankly one of the world’s coolest people. Olamiju also TA’d for Joe Holt (actor), who she completely admires for his wealth of knowledge and fastidiousness; Rebecca Yarsin (casting director), the most wholesome person you’ll ever meet, and many more. Additionally, she got to experience the excitement and power of working behind the scenes as she learned a bit about cinematography.
Prior to Graduation: She Acted in a Production of ‘Middletown’ by Will Eno - June 2021
During her senior year spring extension, she completed her first-ever Zoom production of “Middletown” by Will Eno at NYU’s Meisner Studio Dir. Blair Brooks. She got to play the amazing “Mechanic”, a solemn character with daddy issues! kidding, there’s so much more depth to the character! Olamiju really got to explore and tackle the challenges that come with performing a play on zoom, and though it wasn’t easy, she’s proud of the work she, her cast, and crew were able to create.
Meisner’s Student Representative in the Tisch Drama Student Council (Spring 2021)
She was elected as Meisner’s Student Representative in the Tisch Drama Student Council.
The job of a student representative in the Drama Student Council is to serve all students of Tisch Drama by forming communities, facilitating communication, and ensuring their needs are met as students and artists at Tisch Drama. DSC also brings the community together by pushing for an inclusive, equitable, artistic & educational community.
Olamiju really loved being the Meisner representative! It came with a lot of responsibilities; however, the fact that she can say she made a mark and helped implement anti-discriminatory policies in the Meisner studio is an achievement she’s proud of.
