About Me.
Olamiju is an actor that recently graduated with a BFA in Drama from NYU Tisch School of the Arts, whoop she did it! During her time at NYU she trained at the Meisner studio for two years. She also acted as the Meisner student representative in the Tisch Drama Student Council. She among other bold women spearheaded the implementation of anti-racist and anti-discriminatory policies in the Meisner studio so that her peers and many more students to come after them feel protected and safe in their formative classes.
In addition to her time at Meisner, Olamiju furthered her acting training at Stonestreet Studios where she learned to focus her power as an actress to suit the medium of film and TV. She is extremely passionate about telling stories with powerful women that showcase the many ways we can find strength in ourselves, whether it’s having the confidence to command a room full of people, or getting out of bed in the morning when life deals you lemons. She came to this decision when she moved to the U.S. at the age of 14 and became aware of two things in particular: the overwhelming stereotypes of black people, especially Africans, that dictated the way she was being viewed, and the power that film and TV have to change the narrative. In order to create change, Olamiju knew that she only wanted to portray multifaceted women. Women that are strong yet flawed, vulnerable yet courageous, and so on, while encouraging other black people that we can be whatever we want to be.
Outside of acting, Olamiju has a passion for life. Her interests include languages, traveling and exploring, meeting new people, and understanding how these things come together to make her a better person.
